Murder count now stands at #72 as of June 24th 2015,
ONE MAN is dead and another in serious condition in hospital after they were shot multiple times while walking through Montell Heights on Tuesday night.
#This latest murder brings the country’s homicide count to 73 for the year, police said yesterday.
#Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean said the victims were walking with a group of men on Ethel Street shortly after 9pm when they were approached by men in a silver coloured Honda.
#“The Honda vehicle pulled up and the occupants fired several shots at the group of men and sped off,” ACP Dean said.
#“The men were shot multiple times. One of the men was very seriously injured. Both of the victims were taken to hospital where one of the victims died of his injuries. The other man is in serious condition. We are in the early stages of our investigation and our detectives and police officers were on the ground early canvassing the area and talking to witnesses and based on that, I can tell you we are following significant leads and we believe this is a matter that we are going to wrap up very soon.”
#Police have not identified the victim but The Tribune understands he is Patrick Justillien.

AN ARGUMENT involving several people at a Gladstone Road bar in Nassau early today resulted in the death of a woman and a man in serious condition in hospital, police are reporting.
#Officers are investigating the incident, which they say occurred shortly after 1am on Saturday when several persons were involved in an argument at the bar, leading to a man and a woman being struck by a vehicle.She has been identified as 19 year old Dajon Woodside.
#Both were rushed to hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries and the man remains in serious condition.
#A 19-year-old male is in custody assisting police with their investigations.

Murder now stands at #71when a man was shot and killed off Cox' way on Sunday June 21st 2015.
Last night a 34year old man who was on bail for murder was killed last night on cox way. BN is told that the male was riddle with bullets to the head and upper body. It said that the country latest murdered victim, murdered someone in Abaco on January 18th.
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect/s responsible for the death of a man on Sunday 21st June 2014.
According to reports, shortly after 10:30pm, police received a report that a man was found dead in bushes on Cox Way off East Street South. When police arrived on the scene, they met the lifeless body of a male with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The male was officially pronounced dead at the scene. Police can confirm that the victim was being electronically monitored and is on bail for an indictable offence.
Investigations are ongoing.

#The shooting took place shortly after 11pm and brought the country’s murder count for the year to 69, according to The Tribune’s records.
#Officer in Charge of the Central Detective Unit, Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle, said the victim was standing on the stairs of a nightclub at the junction of St Vincent and Baillou Hill Roads when “someone called his name”.
#“What we do know is that the young man was on the stairs on a building here on Blue Hill Road South having a smoke, when a male approached him from the northern side of the building and called out to him,” Supt Rolle said. “The victim came down the stairs, this male who was wearing a hooded jacket produced a handgun and began discharging shots in his direction hitting him in the head and chest. The suspect then ran south into a waiting vehicle and sped off.”
#Police have not identified the victim but The Tribune understands he is Dwayne 'D A’ Major, of Sunshine Park.
#A local resident, who did not wish to be named, said a dark-coloured Honda was seen fleeing the scene after the murder.
#“I was in the bar and I heard about three to five gun shots. About six of us were in there and we ran outside to see what happened. All we know is he stepped outside for like a minute before we heard the shots to go get a smoke. He was a decent person, didn’t bother anyone, so I don’t understand why someone would do that.”

THE country’s murder count now stands at 68 following the shooting death of a 39-year-old man in Grand Bahama yesterday.
#The victim, a resident of Bass Lane, was discovered with multiple gunshot injuries shortly after 9pm on Tuesday at Bass Lane and Murchinson Drive.
#When police officers arrived at the scene, they observed a man lying on his back with apparent gunshot wounds to the body. He was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital where he later died of his injuries around 3am on Wednesday.
#Police have not released the man’s identity, but it is believed that he is Antonio “Babes” Williams. This latest incident pushes Grand Bahama’s homicide count to six.
#No arrest has been made and police are investigating the incident

A SUSPECTED vagrant was found naked and beaten to death yesterday afternoon hours after police discovered the lifeless body of another man with a gunshot wound in his chest off Fire Trail Road.
#These latest killings take the country’s murder count to 67 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.
#The first homicide happened shortly after 5am on Monday off Allen Close.
#Officer-in-charge of the Central Detective Unit (CDU), Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle said police believe the victim was shot during a robbery in front of his residence. He has been identified as 49-year-old Keith Davis.
#Chief Supt Rolle said the victim, who was found with his shotgun nearby, was able to discharge several shots at the assailant.
#However, police are uncertain if the suspect was shot.
#“A relative of the 49-year-old male went to his residence to pay him a visit. Upon entering the yard, he noticed his relative lying on the lawn with his shotgun a short distance away. He then contacted the police and EMS responded and upon examination pronounced him dead,” Chief Supt Rolle said.
#“We noticed that he was suffering from gunshot injuries to the left chest and there was some signs of struggle in the yard and we believe that the victim’s silver Nissan Teana is missing and we still not have located that. We are trying to get a number on the vehicle so we can have persons be on the look out. We believe the murder happened around 5am so we are also asking for anyone who may have been in that area around that time and may have seen something suspicious to contact us, to reach out to us.” he has been identified as Keith Davis
#The second victim was discovered naked in an abandoned building sometime after 1pm off East Street South.
#Chief Supt Rolle said police believe the victim is a vagrant who “frequented the area.”
#Police suspect the man was dead for about two days before he was found.
#“A worker who was hired to do repairs on the Bahamas Public Service Union building went to the rear building to do an inspection. As he stood at the window, he observed the body of a black male lying on a box spring on the floor in the western room. He called the police and officers pronounced him dead,” Chief Supt Rolle said.
#“This individual has bruising about the body, which appears as though whomever attacked him may have beaten him and left him there for dead. His clothing was all removed, we found his pants and underwear and shirt in a nearby room. We believe he is a man who frequents the area with no fixed address.”

Murder now stands at #65 when a man was shot on Saturday June 6th 2015 in Yellow Elder.
A MAN was shot and killed outside a home in Yellow Elder Gardens on Saturday night, pushing the year’s homicide count to 65, according to The Tribune’s records.
#The incident was one of four shooting incidents that occurred in just 36 hours over the holiday weekend, however the other three attacks were not fatal.
#Assistant Commissioner of Police Stephen Dean told The Tribune yesterday that up to press time, police had no leads into Saturday night’s homicide.
#When pressed as to whether or not the shooting may have been an act of retaliation, the senior policeman said: “We’re still early on into our investigation and trying to determine what happened.”
#While the victim has not been officially identified, The Tribune understands that he is 32-year-old Michael McKenzie.

#Police reports say the victim was sitting on a wall with several males in front of a home on Peach Street when a man armed with a handgun approached him and shot him multiple times before fleeing. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. He has been identified as Frankie Fenelus

MURDERS are up five per cent compared to the same time last year, an analysis into the country’s homicide figures for the first five months of 2015 has revealed.
#The Tribune’s analysis into last year’s police crime statistics found that at the end of May 2014, the country recorded 60 murders. This year’s count stands at 63, the most recent a fatal shooting in Yellow Elder Gardens on Friday night.
#According to police, the latest murder happened shortly after 9pm when the victim was walking in a park off Graham Drive, in Yellow Elder Gardens. A man armed with a handgun approached and shot him multiple times before fleeing. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
#He was one of five people murdered in separate incidents last week.

A MAN died in hospital Thursday night shortly after he was shot in the Pinewood Gardens subdivision.
#According to reports, just after 6:00pm, the victim was repairing his vehicle in front of his home located at Chestnut Street, Pinewood Gardens, when a dark coloured truck pulled up. One of the truck’s occupants discharged several shots at the victim, hitting him multiple times about the body. The truck then sped off. The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
#Police confirmed that the victim was being electronically monitored and was released on bail late last year for an indictable offence.
#The Tribune understands he is Merit Forbes. According to well-placed sources, he was charged with murder in 2011.
