Murder stands at #45 on April 21st 2015

A MAN was shot and killed yesterday afternoon taking the country’s murder count to 45 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.
This is the third shooting death in the capital in three days.
The latest homicide happened shortly after 2pm off Wulff Road.
Officer-in-charge of the Central Detective Unit, Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle said the victim was walking with a woman when he was approached by a man with a handgun.
“Shortly after 2pm, a male believed to be in his mid-twenties, a resident of Robinson Road, was walking in Union Village along with a female companion, when a male accosted them, produced a handgun and began discharging shots in his direction,” he said.
“The victim ran but collapsed in the street. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS personnel were called on the scene and pronounced him dead.”
The female was unharmed during the incident. Chief Supt Rolle said police are not sure of the motive at this time.
POLICE have identified the man murdered at Union Village on Wednesday afternoon as Leonel Louis-Jean of Robinson Road.
The 30-year-old man was shot shortly after 2pm off Wulff Road

Murder now stands at #44

POLICE are investigating three separate murders after a man was shot to death on Ida Street yesterday afternoon, nearly 12 hours after another man was found dead with gun shot wounds near the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.
Police have also classified the death of a woman who was found dead inside her Nassau Village home last week as a homicide. These deaths brought the country’s murder count to 44 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.
The latest incident happened around 4.30pm.
Police said the most recent murder victim was doing repair work on a car with another man on Ida Street. A lone gunman approached the pair and fired shots, according to Chief Superintendant Paul Rolle.
“One of the victims who was struck to the hand ran to the next corner to seek assistance,” Chief Supt Rolle said. “The second male was shot multiple times to the body. EMS responded to the scene, where they pronounced the male lifeless.”
The other victim was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital by ambulance.
Police are also investigating the death of a man whose body was found around 3.30am Monday morning.
Police, acting on information, went to a service road near the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex where they discovered the body of a man lying on the ground.
He had multiple gun shot injuries to the body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Duval Watkins of Yellow Elder Gardens. Mr Watkins was “well known to police”, The Tribune understands.
He was also shot in the chest in October 2014, while walking through Yellow Elder Gardens.
Police are also investigating the death of a 55-year-old woman who was discovered dead inside her Nassau Village home last Friday.
According to reports, Doretta Rolle was found unresponsive around 7am. EMS personnel were called and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police initially said the matter was unclassified, but after conducting an autopsy, the matter has been ruled a homicide. Sources close to the matter say results from the autopsy show Ms Rolle was strangled.der now stands at #44

According to the tribune we are up to murder #41

THREE men were killed in separate incidents yesterday - one in Grand Bahama - bringing the year’s murder toll to 41 for the year, according to The Tribune’s records.
The two latest murders occurred last night, less than an hour apart.
Shortly before 9.30pm, on Tuesday April 7 2015, police were called to the scene of a shooting at Graham Drive in Yellow Elder Gardens, where a male was found dead in his car.
While police were processing that scene, they were alerted to reports around 10pm that a man was stabbed at Roberts Drive in Nassau Village. Police believe that killing stemmed from a domestic dispute between a man and his juvenile nephew who was arrested shortly after the incident.
Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle said when police arrived in Yellow Elder, officers found a 24-year-old man sitting in the driver’s seat of his 1997 Honda Prelude, with gunshot wounds to his body.
EMS pronounced him dead on the scene he has been identified as Chima Bain
“While here on this scene, police, we also received reports of a stabbing incident in the Roberts Drive (area in) Nassau Village, off Alexandria Blvd. Information there is that a young man and a relative became involved in an argument. The younger, who we believe is a juvenile, took a knife and stabbed his uncle to the chest, fatally wounding him to the chest.” He has been identified as Arlington Thompson
The juvenile was arrested, Chief Supt Rolle said.
Meanwhile, police in Grand Bahama are investigating the early morning homicide of a man in Freeport.
A young man was stabbed to death, pushing the homicide count for the year to five in Grand Bahama.
The unidentified victim, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. identified as 28-year-old Clayton Rufus Brown, of No 15 Lawrence Close, Freeport.
No arrest has been made and police are investigating the matter.

Holy weekend turns BLOODY!!!
Within less than 24hrs, the country has experienced yet ANOTHER murder in the capital!!
 A 21 year old man was shot and killed on dumping ground which is located in the Bain Town area, where we can say that a young man who goes by the name of Mark Daniels jr he was killed instantly!!
Witnesses say" all we could've hear was gun shots and people screaming. When I look, I see my friend mark on the floor laying in a pool of blood."

May His soul R.I.P

was even more so sad is that his father suffer the similar faith 6 years ago as he was also gun down and killed through the next corner.

Murder #36 occurred on 03/04/15

Murder # 36 occurred on Friday April 3,2015




The young man shot and killed on Friday April 3rd 2015 shortly after 8 has been identifying as Harry Gardiner. Gardiner is in his early 20's and is a resident of Ridge land park.
Harry was with a group of men who were playing dominoes when a known gun man walked up to them and open fire on Harry hitting him multiple times about the body.
Officers of flying squad was called in where the his life lesson body on the side of the road.

ANOTHER Long island MURDER!!
POLICE are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a stabbing death of man in Long Island on Thursday 2nd April 2015.
According to reports, shortly before 12:00 noon, police in Long Island received a report that a man was found dead at his home located in Clarence Town. When police arrived at the scene, they met the lifeless body of a Caucasian man with multiple stabbed wounds about the body. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.Retired 88-year-old Canadian doctor Harry Geoffrey Harding was stabbed to death during a home invasion at Clarence Town, Long Island on Thursday sending shock waves throughout the peaceful island settlement.


Murder #34 26/3/2015

Murder #34 occurred on March 26th 2015


A young mother was shot dead on Prison Lane just before 10 o'clock last night moments after she picked up her four-year-old son, police said. 

Superintendent Paul Rolle told reporters at the scene that the woman was walking back to her vehicle after collecting the child from relatives or friends when a man walked up to her and shot her. 

When The Nassau Guardian arrived on the scene, the woman's body was lying on the ground next to a house.She was reportedly shot to the upper body. 

Distraught relatives shouted, 'What did she do?', as they fought to get past police officers. 

Details surrounding the country's latest murder were sketchy. 

The woman's identity was not revealed. 

Rolle appealed to anyone with information on the murder to contact police right away. He said police did not know what the motive was but were "following several leads". 

This was the second murder this week. The murder count in The Bahamas this year is now 35.
